Attendees gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the facility's role in expanding customer support across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region
Customers and members of the aviation community gathered at Essendon Fields Airport during Textron Aviation's 2026 Asia-Pacific Customer Conference in August to celebrate its new Melbourne Service Center. The opening ceremony featured remarks from Textron Aviation leaders and local stakeholders, followed by a ribbon cutting at the service center, commemorating the official opening of the facility and the teams whose efforts brought the project to completion.
"The Melbourne Service Center represents a significant investment in our customers, our people and the future of aviation in Australia," said Zaki Abu Ghazaleh, general manager, Australia Service Centers, Textron Aviation. "More importantly, it strengthens our ability to support customers when and where they need us. This facility expands our capacity, enhances our capabilities and positions us to serve operators across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region for years to come."
While the Melbourne Service Center has been supporting customers since March 2026, the ceremony provided conference attendees an opportunity to officially celebrate the facility's opening and see the expanded hangar firsthand. Following the ribbon cutting, guests toured the facility and learned more about the role Melbourne plays in supporting customers across Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region through factory-direct maintenance, parts support and technical expertise.
