Textron Aviation today named five new participants to its 2023 Top Hawk program that places the world’s leading training aircraft, the Cessna Skyhawk, with top pilot training programs around the country, promoting general aviation and encouraging young people to pursue aviation as a career.
The 2023 Top Hawk participants are Yellow Jacket Flying Club, Utah State University, Flight Training Professionals, Great Basin Aviation and Anson Aviation.
As a Top Hawk participant, each organization receives a factory-new, custom-branded Cessna Skyhawk to use for the duration of the program for student pilot training and to promote pilot training at air shows, aviation contests and recruiting events.
“We’re proud to build on a program that supports general aviation and the future of pilot training in the renowned Cessna Skyhawk,” said Chris Crow, vice president, Piston sales. “Recognized as the worldwide flight trainer of choice, the Skyhawk gives Top Hawk students, and prospective students, the most technologically advanced flight training platform available.”
Textron Aviation works with universities, training organizations and flight schools throughout the world, and the Top Hawk program plays a vital role in the initiative to support the advancement of general aviation and modernization of aircraft training fleets.
Since launching the program in 2015, Textron Aviation has placed 41 Cessna Skyhawks with participating Top Hawk organizations around the world, training more than 1,000 students to help fill the pipeline of skilled aviators.
The Cessna Skyhawk platform is the world standard for pilot training and is renowned for offering the best combination of modern features, including the leading Garmin G1000 NXi avionics system with wireless connectivity, a standard angle-of-attack display system, and proven dependability. More Skyhawks have been delivered to customers around the world than any other type of aircraft, with more than 45,000 delivered.
