Veterans Day at Textron Aviation

Honoring veterans and active-duty military personnel

Veterans Day 2025

At Textron Aviation, Veterans Day is a time of reflection and gratitude. With military-affiliated personnel representing 15% of its workforce, the company proudly supports those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Earlier this year Textron Aviation was named a Top 25 Employer for Veterans by Military.com, an honor that reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to hiring military personnel. This support extends beyond recognition — through tailored onboarding, dedicated mentorship programs and participation in the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge internship program, the team empowers military talent to transition into meaningful civilian careers.

“We value veterans and the unparalleled training, skills and perspective they bring to Textron Aviation every day,” said John Buckley, senior manager, Military programs, and 33-year United States Army veteran. “To all who have served and who continue to serve, thank you for your contributions and for making a meaningful impact.”

Veterans Day celebrations were held across Textron Aviation’s east and west Wichita campuses and livestreamed to the company’s service facilities and affiliate businesses nationwide. Attendees were recognized by branch of service and learned how their feedback on their experiences has helped shape company initiatives that support the military-to-civilian transition.

Employees also participated in a letter writing campaign, expressing gratitude to both veterans and active-duty service members.

Members of the veteran-focused employee resource group, Veteran Engagement Through Community Outreach Mentoring (VETCOM), shared upcoming opportunities for mentorship and community engagement. They highlighted Textron Aviation's recent sponsorship and participation in Wichita's Veterans Day parade on Saturday, Nov. 8 in downtown Wichita.

“As a veteran, supporting those who have served is deeply meaningful to me,” said Ron Draper, president and CEO, Textron Aviation. “I am proud to welcome veterans to Textron Aviation, where their experience and values enrich our team and help us achieve our mission every day. Thank you for your service and for all you bring to our company.”

To all who have served on active duty or in the National Guard or Reserves in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force or Coast Guard, Textron Aviation thanks you for your courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to freedom.
