Textron Aviation | 50 Years of Legendary Service

At Textron Aviation, the heart and soul of our company lies in the dedication and passion of our team. In 2024, we celebrated a milestone with two of our employees, Dayton Hartley and Doncella White, who have each dedicated 50 or more years of service to our mission – delivering the best aviation experience for our customers. Their stories are a testament to the enduring spirit and unwavering commitment that defines our community at Textron Aviation.

Dayton began his career in structural dynamics at Beechcraft, where he laid the foundation for his current role as a senior engineer specialist at Textron Aviation.

He fondly remembers conducting aircraft drop tests at Beechcraft, a crucial part of ensuring our aircraft’s security and reliability. He also recalls the carrier landing tests he participated in at the Patuxent River, Maryland Naval Air Station, for the T-34C Navy Trainer. These experiences not only shaped his career but also solidified his love for aviation.

One of the projects I am most proud of is the AT-6 Semi-Prepared Runway Test and Analysis for Military Type Certification support. This project was both a challenge and a significant contribution, ensuring that AT-6 aircraft met the stringent military standards required for operation in varied and demanding environments. Doncella’s journey began on the wash crew, where she developed a keen eye for detail and a passion for aircraft aesthetics. Her talent and dedication led her to become an experienced aircraft painter, a role she has held for decades. Working in the same building throughout her tenure, Doncella has witnessed many advancements in aviation technology. However, it’s the creative freedom she enjoys in the paint shop that truly stands out.

I take great pride in my role at the paint shop, where I can apply unique color schemes and designs to Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft. Each project is particularly meaningful to me due to its distinctiveness and the creative expression it affords. Doncella White, completions painter

Both Dayton and Doncella’s stories are woven with a common thread: pride.

At Textron Aviation, employees are empowered to fulfill their passions. Supporting our talent in this way is how we build the best aviation experience for our customers and communities.

Dayton and Doncella’s pride and dedication are a source of inspiration for all of us. We are deeply grateful for their 50 years of service and the continued contributions they make to the company. We are proud to celebrate Dayton and Doncella as legendary members of our team.

To mark this significant career milestone, President and CEO Ron Draper presented them with commemorative aircraft keepsakes sporting custom 50-year paint schemes – the Beechcraft King Air 360 for Dayton and the Cessna Citation Longitude for Doncella.
