Customer input is evident throughout the new CJ3 Gen2

The list of amenities on the new Cessna Citation CJ3 Gen2 is long. Features such as additional legroom for pilots, a state-of-the-art cockpit with autothrottles, and an externally serviceable lavatory have customers looking forward to the aircraft’s entry into service. Customer Berry Carter will tell you, however, that he was most impressed with the journey that led to the new CJ3 Gen2.

Carter was a member of a Customer Advisory Board, which consisted of CJ3 owner/operators who shared with Textron Aviation representatives about what they would like to see in a new aircraft.

“I didn’t really think a large company like Textron Aviation would actually listen to you,” Carter said. “But after being on the Customer Advisory Board and seeing what we asked for really come to fruition…it’s a pretty awesome experience.”

The CJ3 Gen2 was introduced at the National Business Aviation Association event in October 2023, Carter’s experience on the CAB has him anticipating deliveries of the new aircraft next year.

“I’d like to thank Textron Aviation,” Carter said. “You actually listened to your customers. The CJ3 is an amazing aircraft that people are going to really like.”
