For more than 90 years, Textron Aviation's success has been rooted in the unmatched expertise and dedication of our world-class team.
One way we dedicated to providing a growth and innovative work environment for employees is through a robust summer intern program. Nearly 230 college interns took part in the 2021 intern orientation at Textron Aviation on Monday, May 23. Throughout the day, students heard from various Textron Aviation leaders, learned about planned summer activities and met their new intern peers.
Textron Aviation interns are placed in challenging roles and provided real world learning experiences, ultimately receiving a 90 day interview. Interns receive real world experiences, professional training, networking opportunities, and the ability to experience different roles to determine their strengths and where they may have room to grow.
Interns have been getting hands-on career experience at Textron Aviation for years. Get an inside look at the Textron Aviation college summer intern program in the video below.
The 2021 college interns represent many universities across the country, including Kansas, Kansas State, Wichita State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Embry-Riddle, Iowa State, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Missouri, Miami (Ohio), Clemson and Pittsburg State. The group of interns will support multiple functions throughout the company.
It's not just an internship, its a whole experience. One of the best experiences I've ever had.Abby, 2019 Summer Intern
The Youth Employment Project (YEP) high school students, ages 16 to 19, will arrive on Monday, June 7, and will represent over 20 local high schools. YEP interns receive the full internship experience, including orientation with parents and supervisor, community service day and future employment opportunities. During their time, they experience a six-week program in departments throughout the organization.
