Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today announced it has received an order from Aerolíneas Ejecutivas (ALE) for three Cessna Citation Latitude midsize business jets. ALE, Mexico’s leading business aviation company, will operate these aircraft in its fractional ownership division, MexJet – established in 1997 as the first of its kind in the country.
“The Latitude will bring a winning combination of class-leading cabin comfort, performance and low operating costs to ALE’s fractional customers,” said Lannie O’Bannion, vice president, Sales, Latin America and Caribbean. “ALE has a long relationship with Textron Aviation’s Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker brands, and we’re excited to add the Citation Latitude to its fleet.”
Aircraft deliveries are scheduled throughout the first three quarters of 2018. The three Latitudes join MexJet’s fleet of more than 30 aircraft and will be based in Toluca and Monterrey. The fractional fleet already includes a variety of light, midsize and large cabin jets as well as helicopters.
“Our fractional clients are going to appreciate the performance of this aircraft, while traveling in what is the most comfortable, technologically advanced cabin in its class,” said Alexis Javkin, MexJet’s business director. “The Latitude gives passengers large cabin comfort and amenities in a midsize business jet, and we’re looking forward to demonstrating its innovative capabilities to our customers throughout Mexico and the region.”
ALE started in 1968 as an air taxi operator and has since grown into a leader in business aviation, operating from multiple facilities throughout Mexico and specializing in new and pre-owned aircraft sales, fractional programs, aircraft administration, FBO services and maintenance operations.
Textron Aviation recently reinforced its presence in Mexico by expanding its channel partnership with ALE to include new aircraft sales and service for Textron Aviation’s full jet and turboprop portfolio. ALE, which celebrates 50 years in business in 2018, was already a sales representative for Textron Aviation’s special mission aircraft and an authorized service facility (ASF) for Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft.
Textron Aviation delivered 42 Citation Latitudes in 2016 – including the first to be registered in Mexico – making it the most delivered midsize jet in the world for that year. The aircraft’s mission flexibility has made it popular with fleet operators, corporate owners and special missions operators across the world. With certification in 41 countries, the global fleet has surpassed 100 aircraft and 60,000 flight hours.
With a maximum range of 2,850 nautical miles and a best-in-class four-passenger range of 2,700 nautical miles at high-speed cruise, the Citation Latitude affords the most open, spacious, bright and refined cabin environment in the midsize category. With a flat floor and six feet of cabin height, innovation abounds with unique features designed throughout the aircraft. Textron Aviation’s wireless cabin-technology system provides productive connectivity and entertainment to each passenger through their personal electronic devices. Improving cabin comfort for passengers and crew alike, the Latitude features a new cabin cooling system and a new pressurization system, which provides a class-leading 5,950-foot cabin altitude at the aircraft’s maximum operating altitude of 45,000 feet. With standard seating configurations, the Latitude can comfortably accommodate up to nine passengers.
