Veterans Day celebrations were recently held across Textron Aviation campuses nationwide. Attendees participated in a letter writing campaign, expressing gratitude to both veterans and active-duty service members.
“I still have a stack of letters from when I was in Afghanistan that I got from people that I’d never met. It makes you feel like it’s all worth it,” said William Paulson, assistant general counsel, Textron Aviation and 10-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Employees received a Challenge Coin, which represents camaraderie and unity, as a gift and recognition for their contributions and commitment. Attendees also enjoyed coffee from Nameless Coffee Company, a Wichita-based affiliate of Sojourner’s Military Resilience Center. The center’s mission is to support military members, veterans and their families by providing resources and a welcoming space to connect and navigate life transitions.
With military-affiliated personnel representing 15% of its workforce, the company proudly supports those who have served in the United States Armed Forces through tailored onboarding, dedicated mentorship programs and the veteran-focused employee resource group, Veteran Engagement Through Community Outreach Mentoring (VETCOM). Members of VETCOM and their families recently participated in the Wichita's Veterans Day parade in downtown Wichita, of which Textron Aviation was the name sponsor.
To all who have served on active duty or in the National Guard or Reserves in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force or Coast Guard, Textron Aviation thanks you for your courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to freedom.
