Textron Aviation named Goodwill Industries of Kansas Industry Partner of the Year

Employee Briana Vanegmond honored as Scholar of the Year

2025 Goodwill Industries of Kansas Partner of the Year

Textron Aviation has been named the Industry Partner of the Year by Goodwill Industries of Kansas. In addition, Textron Aviation employee Briana Vanegmond was honored as Scholar of the Year, recognizing her inspiring journey through Goodwill’s Re-Entry Services program to her current role as a sheet metal assembler. These honors reflect our commitment to building stronger communities through strategic collaboration and workforce development.

“Textron Aviation team’s collaboration with Goodwill is a powerful example of how we invest in the communities where our employees live and work,” said Todd McKee, senior vice president of Integrated Supply Chain at Textron Aviation. “Briana’s story is a testament to the transformative impact of opportunity, support and determination.”

2025 Scholar of the Year: Briana Vanegmond

Briana’s journey began while she was incarcerated and under Drug Court supervision, raising her young son and pregnant with her daughter. Through her probation officer, she connected with Goodwill’s Re-Entry Services program and committed to rebuilding her life. She balanced motherhood, probation requirements, life skills courses and classes at WSU Tech  all while working multiple jobs and leading Narcotics Anonymous meetings to support others in recovery.

Briana first connected with Textron Aviation through a presentation led by Izarahy Montes, Talent Management Representative for Workforce Programs. Izarahy provides a monthly presentation to each cohort during which she shares company insights, answers questions and emphasizes our commitment to being a second-chance employer. Inspired by Izarahy’s message, Briana participated in a company tour and job shadowing experience, where she learned firsthand what it’s like to work in aviation manufacturing. After graduating from the program, she interviewed and was offered a position as a sheet metal assembler, building a stable future for her family and serving as a role model for others.
