Chris Hearne, Textron Aviation senior vice president, Engineering and Programs, shared what he believes are the qualities of every engineer at Textron Aviation.

“Albert Einstein once said, ‘Scientists investigate that which already is; engineers create that which has never been.’ That is what makes engineers so incredibly valuable to our company and to the aviation industry. I am proud of their unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in our products.”

Textron Aviation engineers are at the forefront of designing and certifying some of the world’s

most iconic aircraft. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has established Textron Aviation as a leader in the aviation industry. This dedication is cultivated in part through a culture of teamwork and collaboration, which is fostered by department-wide events such as the company’s first-ever Engineering Pinewood Derby.

Organized by the Textron Aviation Engineering Engagement Team, along with other activities to celebrate National Engineering Week, the Pinewood Derby was a highly anticipated event with a great turnout. The derby featured friendly competition among the creators of nearly 70 personalized pinewood derby cars built by employees from the engineering department. Cars could be entered in either the standard or outlaw class.
