most iconic aircraft. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has established Textron Aviation as a leader in the aviation industry. This dedication is cultivated in part through a culture of teamwork and collaboration, which is fostered by department-wide events such as the company’s first-ever Engineering Pinewood Derby.
Organized by the Textron Aviation Engineering Engagement Team, along with other activities to celebrate National Engineering Week, the Pinewood Derby was a highly anticipated event with a great turnout. The derby featured friendly competition among the creators of nearly 70 personalized pinewood derby cars built by employees from the engineering department. Cars could be entered in either the standard or outlaw class.
The event gave the company’s engineers the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity as they competed with colleagues. Employees and leaders cheered on the entrants during the races, connecting with colleagues from across the organization.
At Textron Aviation, engineers serve in more than 110 different types of roles throughout the company. These include areas such as aerospace engineering, tooling, manufacturing, safety and interiors. Thank you to all of our Textron Aviation engineers for your contributions to the company and thank you to all participants of the first Engineering Pinewood Derby.
