Across the globe, young people are grabbing the reins of the aviation industry and pushing it to greater heights.
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) recognized two Textron Aviation employees this week for leading the way as part of the 2021 Business Aviation Top 40 Under 40 class. Alexis Bennett, regional sales director, and Caleb Gibson, ProOwnership maintenance specialist, were selected out of hundreds of qualified candidates for the award.
NBAA selected Alexis and Caleb based upon their career achievements, community involvement, efforts to help develop the next generation of business aviation professionals and lastly, their innovative contributions to the industry.
Alexis’ career in business aviation began with a summer internship at Textron Aviation while she was a business student at Kansas State University. The experience ignited Alexis’ desire to pursue the aviation industry long-term.
This industry has provided me opportunities that I never would have had the chance to do.Alexis Bennett, regional Sales director
Since graduating and joining Textron Aviation full-time, Alexis has held various sales roles with increasing levels of responsibility. She says one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of her career is the opportunity to truly know Textron Aviation customers, understand their needs and find a product that is the perfect fit for them. Alexis is now pursuing her MBA at Texas A&M and she looks forward to growing her professional skillset that will help more customers understand and experience the benefits of private aviation.
After graduating from LeTourneau University in Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Mission Aviation with a Maintenance concentration, A&P Mechanic certificates and a Private Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating, Caleb Gibson moved to Kansas to become part of the enduring legacy of the Cessna and Beechcraft brands at Textron Aviation.
For Caleb, there’s no greater joy than seeing heads of all ages turn to the sky when an airplane flies over. He loves to observe the smile of someone stepping out of a cockpit after their first flight, or watch Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft be used in meaningful ways to aid commerce, serve as medical transport or provide aid and relief to isolated areas.
It’s the excitement of flight, it’s the enthusiasm for new horizons we have yet to discover that makes me excited about aviation.Caleb Gibson, maintenance specialsit, ProOwnership
