Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) recorded a significant number of special mission aircraft sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the past year, delivering aircraft to customers in nine countries for applications ranging from military applications such as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) to commercial applications such as cloud seeding/weather modifications. The company supplemented its commercial sales in the region with nearly 30 special mission aircraft deliveries since last year.
“Built on solid foundations of versatility and rugged reliability, Hawker Beechcraft products lead the industry in special mission aircraft with more than 4,000 airplanes filling a broad range of roles throughout the world,” said Shawn Vick, HBC executive vice president. “No other family of aircraft can come close to that total. In a challenging marketplace, we hold a decided edge, built over an extended period, and we intend to expand it.”

During the past year, European customers have also taken delivery of King Air models for photographic and aerial mapping missions.
Flight inspection and calibration of navigational aid is another popular mission being fulfilled by King Air aircraft in Central and Western Europe. In addition, King Air C90GT turboprops are being utilized by a university in Turkey for airline pilot training and several King Air 350 aircraft, King Air B200 aircraft, and a Hawker 900XP configured for medical evacuation are in service in Europe and the Middle East.
HBC also delivered 12 aircraft ranging from the King Air C90GTi to the Hawker 900XP to support the various roles of the Saudi Arabia Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, which includes weather modification and air quality assessment and protection.
