Hawker Beechcraft Appoints Jay Gibson Vice President, Special Missions

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) today announced the appointment of John H. “Jay” Gibson II as vice president, Special Missions. Gibson will serve as a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team. In this role Gibson is responsible for the continued development and worldwide expansion of HBC’s Special Missions Product Line (SMPL) in order for it to realize its full potential in the important and growing worldwide market.

Gibson also will continue serving as an active leader in the company’s government affairs regarding Special Missions, the T-6 program, the AT-6 program and regulatory matters impacting the company’s products and services.

Prior to joining HBC in 2009 as Vice President of Finance and Contracts for the Government Business organization, Gibson served as the Assistant Secretary of the United States Air Force (Financial Management and Comptroller) in Washington, D.C., where he was the principal advisor to the Secretary on financial management matters and responsible for the formulation and execution of a $140 billion budget. Gibson entered public service as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Management Reform) and also served as Acting Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Financial Management). In addition, throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership positions in private companies, including roles as Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.

Gibson earned a master’s degree in business/finance from the University of Dallas. He holds a bachelor’s in finance and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Texas.
